BIOMECHANICAL Announce Stand-In Bassist For U.K. Tour

May 3, 2006

Currently rehearsing for what is set to be an incendiary tour supporting Earache labelmates DECAPITATED, the U.K.'s own BIOMECHANICAL have confirmed that bass duties will be handled on the tour by BOWLRIDER four-stringer and sometime Kerrang! scribe Dom Lawson. Dom will be standing in for Jon Collins for the nine-date U.K. tour, although BIOMECHANICAL are keen to stress that this is only a short-term fix and Jon will be back on bass when the band take the stage for that most devilish of nights supporting AKERCOCKE on June 6 at Bournemouth Opera House.

BIOMECHANICAL's sophomore album, "Empires of the World", was released in June 2005 via Elitist/Earache Records. The follow-up to 2003's "Eight Moons" (Revolver Records) was recorded by vocalist Jon K and mixed by Andy Sneap (MACHINE HEAD, NEVERMORE, ARCH ENEMY, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE) at Sneap's own Backstage Studios in Derbyshire, U.K. The cover was created by "Spawn"/"The Haunted" drawing artist Nat Jones. Nat has also collaborated with Rob Zombie on the release of his comic "The Nail".
